Great White Hope Passes

On the day The Facist Beast discussed his possible return to elective politics another pol of note, The Great White Hope, announced he would not be running for Governor this year.

The Great White Hope is the right wing pol who forced the Young Senator into a primary for the GOP nomination four years ago. TGWH lost in September, but his efforts didn't help the YS, who lost in November. The YS became the first incumbent Senator from our state to fail reelection since 1936.

The Great White Hope, a graceless and divisive pol, told us all that while he was ready to be governor, we weren't ready for his leadership. Personally, I think he is in a personal situation that prevents him from running. I don't know what it is, but that's my surmise.

Still, this direct slap at the public gives me a new appreciation of The Big Bully, who was elected governor twenty years ago. The people certainly weren't ready for him. It took him three tries before he won. (I managed the second and third campaigns)

The Big Bully didn't let little things like no support and a forbidding personality stop him. If he could be governor, then anything is possible.

In the end, that might not be good.
